Leaf Academy features three International English Studies
programs:
Our
ESL programs are aimed at students over the age of eighteen
(18), who have graduated from High School.
*For those students under the age of 18, please provide
detailed letters from both you and your parents why you would
like to study at Academy.
Maple
Leaf Academy offers:

Intensive
instruction in ESL training with low student/teacher
ratios.

Maximum
of 16 students per class.

Subjects
cover reading, writing, grammar and speaking, listening
and pronunciation.

Full-time
programs are held 5 days a week, Monday through Friday, 5
hours a day, excluding Canadian and Civic holidays.

Students
are accepted in a program up to two weeks after the
semester start date. Students will not be accepted after
the two week grace period.

Those
students who wish to enroll in our ESL Academic program (TOEFL
preparation) must qualify by passing a MLA assessment
test.

Student's
who wish to enroll in the business program, should have a
TOEFL score of at least 170 (computer based test) or 500
(paper based test) or qualify by passing an MLA
assessment.
*STUDENTS
WILL BE ACCEPTED INTO THE ESL PROGRAM AT MAPLE LEAF ACADEMY,
REGARDLESS OF THEIR ENGLISH ABILITY.
Once admitted into an ESL program, we will assess each
student's English language competency. It is recommended that
four semesters (one year) be completed to achieve substantial
English Language growth. This time frame will also help the
student to fully experience the various benefits of living in
Canada.
